I need a pair of sai 22 1/2 inches long, and I do not have $200 USD for a pair of Shuriedo ones!

any body know of any other company that makes long sai besides Shuriedo?

If you know anyone with horses, they could put you in touch with a ferrier or blacksmith who could probably make you a pair for $20 or less.

good thought. I know a smith. may take a pair of sai i have and a picture of the ones I would like.. see if he can help

If you go with the metal smith route, then it's a good idea to be sure that he knows what the proper balance for sai should be. If he creates a pair that is too handle heavy, you'll never be able to properly get the striking / flipping motion going. If it's too shaft heavy, then you'll be mangling your mechanics trying to get the sai manipulations going.
