Hancuffin fools.

So. I was trying some handcuffing during live rolling today

It is really hard and really specialised. But I found I was looking for things and developing skills I don't normally do.

Especially back takes. My focus wasn't on the neck. But on securing the arms. Which made my back takes instantly better.
This is really interesting.

Could you talk more about this?

So if you look at the videos above. I was basically trying to hit those concepts. Just doing live rolling with the BJJ guys.

Essentially I would try to get a top position. Hit a gift wrap with those crossed arms. To get the top arm I move to a seated back take. But sort of let them post and go for the post then reach behind their back and get that hand cuff. (I mostly tried to pull the arm. Then wedge my foot in there to secure it. Then Kimoura the bottom arm. )

Or go for the bottom arm. Kimoura then handcuff.

Or force them in to turtle. And take that belly down handcuff.

Which is all kind of good back take dynamics. The theory being you don't take someone's back then desperately attack the neck because they desperately defend it.

You take their back take their hands away and have a free shot at their neck.

I didn't use commands to sort of pain compliance myself another arm and I didn't reef anything on. So it was just a jujitsu match.

I got a couple of the newer guys. Lost control a heap of times and had to reset everything. And sometimes never got out of guard and had to just play a straight jits game.

But all in all I found it a legitimately fun exercise that didn't effect their rolls much. And I think really broadened my outlook.

So. I was doing this on my own. The top arm gets a kimoura the bottom arm gets the dagastani handcuff. Depending on what i can catch.

This gift wrap traditionally leads itself to a back take. But I would just seat them a bit and dagastani handcuff. Then shove my foot in there to hold it because I don't have that 2nd guy.

For the stand up. I was trying for underhook wrist control. Back take then snatch a sort of one on two control. Which gives me a standing handcuff.

Part of what makes it really hard is controlling Both arms.
