Well, for all of you young film makers out there, billionaire George Lucas, the man credited with making one of the most beloved movies ever made...and then wrecking it...doesn't like capitalism. Hmmm...I guess all that hi-tech film making stuff was just given away for free to whoever asked for it. So, if you are making a youtube video or a home movie, please write Mr. Lucas and ask him for all that neat stuff he made for movies, apparently he is now just going to give it away because "capitalism" is bad for people.

LUCAS: Well, I hope it changes. I mean, it's hard, because you got human nature. You got people -- you know, basically, it's all -- we got a country based on greed. And as long as you got that, then it's corrupt. And as long as it's corrupt, you're never gonna get a real meeting of the minds on what is best for --

Sooo...he must live in a single room occupancy somewhere in the bad part of town. Probably doesn't own a car. Probably only has one change of clothes, which smell pretty bad. If you ever see George Lucas standing on the corner shaking a cup for change, please be generous. Apparently, he gave away his "billions" of dollars and now doesn't have two coppers to rub together.

And Robert Redford is another silly hollywood type...

http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/c...ars-with-budget-busting-salaries/#more-568964
As the founder of the festival, which showcases and gives opportunities to independent filmmakers, Redford hit at politicians who prefer to help big budget studios that toe conservative lines and present little risk….
Redford continued his attack, alluding to state-sponsored film funds in Europe and other countries that help filmmakers produce their movies, despite potentially risque messages.
“For years and years and years, you’ve all experienced what we had to live with, the fact that other countries are far more supportive of their artists than we are,” the Oscar-winning actor and director continued. “But when you have congressional narrow-minded people, people who are afraid of change when change is the only thing that succeeds, the only thing we know is going to happen is that things are going to change.

And the capitalist answers...

Here’s part of your answer, Sundance Kid. The masses don’t want to see independent films as much as they crave “Transformers VIII.” The people vote with their movie tickets, and while there’s not a thing wrong with a microscopic indie film, we prefer popcorn excitement.
And, more importantly, if Redford’s peers didn’t demand multimillion dollar salaries, perhaps the cost of modern filmmaking wouldn’t be quite so sky high. Has Redford asked Johnny Depp why he pockets so much coin for the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, and how it might impact the franchise if Depp chose a less gaudy salary for each installment?
Studios often can’t take risks on star-laden features because said stars demand salaries that put the film’s return on investment in serious jeopardy.

Ok, so we have a quote that George Lucas isn't a fan of capitalism. And some stuff about Robert Redford.

But what hasn't been established is why anyone should care. Do you have a point? What is the relevance here to our lives? Or are you just ranting and snickering?

Actually Lucas said he is for Democracy, not a Democracy where the people with the money can buy the leadership and make the laws. THAT is what the quote you posted above was about... not a hate for Capitalism in general, but one in which the money is used to buy power. He said that is why he turned down the Presidency of Disney Corp, why he sold Pixar for so much less than it was worth, and why he won't make movies that tell people who to vote for and how to think politically. He said his movies may have political undertones, but that's never what they are supposed to be about, first and foremost.
