It is said that the footwork is the key to the proper fundementals of FMA or any MA for that matter. If u cant plant your feet firmly on the ground, yet be light enough on your feet you may find yourself on your butt or backside! To ground oneself, you must learn to form and align your hips, balls of your feet, to the adjustment of the legs/thighs. Once you;ve established this, then you begin to work on movement and replacement stepping. To replace your footwork w/ one or the other is a generally easy task once it's been shown to you. Simple plyometric training can help enduce this performance.

As we begin to search ourselves by either finding someone to follow in their footsteps or finding your own way. One thing is for sure if you can't get your feet a'movin your gonna find out the hardway that you'll get hit alot!!!
