Can anyone clarify the reason/use for the vests? It looks like a demo team (?) wearing them, but not the competitors in poomsae? Are they more decorative and not a formal part of the required uniform?

M-Team is a wonderful group of talented Taekwondo practitioners and we are lucky to have them on the US Team. They make their appearance tomorrow! The vest is being used on the awards podium this year and the demos used it too. It is supposed to be a formal addition to the uniform.
