Looking for favorite upbeat songs that get ya pumped. Just to be the polar opposite of the sad/depressing thread.

Well I have to say my all time favorite is We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions.
I was always small, I was the guy always picked last for kickball in grade school etc. Yet I survived so much in the Marines, I got to see so many great places. Yep ya gotta take the good with the bad, combat sucks and is crippling....physically and mentally. Yet the shining light is that I helped so many people who couldn't help themselves. I persevered, I became a Judo and Greco Roman champion when a lot of people said I couldn't.

Lyrics:

Buddy youre a boy make a big noise
Playin in the street gonna be a big man some day
You got mud on yo face
You big disgrace
Kickin your can all over the place

We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you

Buddy youre a young man hard man
Shoutin in the street gonna take on the world some day
You got blood on yo face
You big disgrace
Wavin your banner all over the place

We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you

Buddy youre an old man poor man
Pleadin with your eyes gonna make you some peace some day

You got mud on your face
You big disgrace
Somebody better put you back in your place

We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you

Ive paid my dues -
Time after time -
Ive done my sentence
But committed no crime -
And bad mistakes
Ive made a few
Ive had my share of sand kicked in my face -
But Ive come through

We are the champions - my friends
And well keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
cause we are the champions - of the world -

Ive taken my bows
And my curtain calls -
You brought me fame and fortuen and everything that goes with it -
I thank you all -

But its been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise -
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race -
And I aint gonna lose -

We are the champions - my friends
And well keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
cause we are the champions - of the world -

Also, I have to say that being an Instructor for Judo and seeing my students improve and their faces just light up when they understand or contemplate better what they are learning and doing, because at this point it doesn't matter what I do it only matters what my students do. I have to give it to the Van Halen song

Top of the World
Hey, Baby, Whew!
I know that you believe in me,
That's all I ever need, uh huh.
No, No, nothing's gonna stop me,
Nothing will be scaring me, oh no
Hey baby, it's the only way out
Oh, little darling,
C'mon what's it all about?
Standing on top of the world
For a little while.
Standing on top of the world
Gonna give it all we got.
Oh, I know it won't hurt,
I gotta have a little taste
I just wanna sink my teeth in that
Fine piece of real estate, yeah
Hey baby, make it nice and sweet,
Oh, little darling
Let's take a walk down easy street
Standing on top of the world,
For a little while.
Standing on top of the world
Let's give it all we got, oooh oooh
Baby, gotta feeling, oooh oooh,
Oh, I wanna touch it,now, oooh oooh oooh,
See the whole wide world turn upside down.
Hey, Baby, Whew!
Someday, we'll be
Standing on top of the world
For a little while
Standing on top of the world
Till we got stung.
Standing on top of the world
For a little while.
Standing on top of the world
Gonna give it all we got.
(Standing on top) Hey, baby.
(Standing on top) Hey darling
Standing on top,
Standing on top,
Standing on top.

So there ya go folks. I am interested in everyone else's replies.

This depends on what mood I'm in. If I need to shake off a bad day or disappointment then " Closer" by NIN ( almost the entire Downwardspiral disk).

Songs that get me up are those songs that get me to move no matter where I am. As long as I don't sing along, no one at work minds if I chair-dance.
"Laid" by James
"Broken Bones", Love Inc
"Take me To the River" Talking Heads

The songs that make me Zen are the songs I listen to with my mom on an old reel to reel. Anything by the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkle ( I listened to the song "The Boxer" over and over when I was a little kid) and Jefferson Airplane.

March of Cambreadth by Heather Alexander

Axes flash, broadswords swing
Shining armors’ piercing ring
Horses run with polished shield
Fight those bastards ‘til they yield
Midnight mare, blood red roan
Fight to keep this land your own
Sound the horn and call the cry
How many of them can we make die?

Follow orders as you’re told
Make their yellow blood run cold
Fight until you die or drop
A force like ours is hard to stop
Close your mind to stress and pain
Fight ‘til you’re no longer sane
Let not one damn cur pass by
How many of them can we make die?

Guard your women and children well
Send these bastards back to Hell
We’ll teach them the ways of war
And they won’t come here anymore
Use your shield and use your head
Fight ‘til everyone is dead
Raise the flag up to the sky
How many of them can we make die?

Dawn has broke, the time has come
Move your feet to the marching drum
We’ll win the war and pay the toll
Fight as one in heart and soul
Midnight mare and blood red roan
Fight to keep this land your own
Sound the horn and call the cry
How many of them can we make die?

Axes flash, broadswords swing
Shining armors’ piercing ring
Horses run with polished shield
Fight those bastards ‘til they yield
Midnight mare and blood red roan
Fight to keep this land your own
Sound the horn and call the cry
How many of them can we make die?
How many of them can we make die?
How many of them can we make die?
