I own a copy, and I thought it was a great film.

The acting was very good, especially on Willem Dafoe's part.

Indeed the plot brings up some interesting moral questions.

The whole movie was set up with the first sermon during the opening sequence.

"Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men." - Monsignor

But the flip side to the movie is How far is too far?

Over all a great movie though.

I have most of that movie memorized... I've watched it enough times.

Yeah it was a little difficult to tell where the movie was going at first. The comedy used intermittently though out really helped the story along in my opinion, without the funny moments it would have made the main characters seem to be the infallible type. With the little comedic interludes you get the impression that they are more or less kind of bumbling, especially Rocco.

The cat scene in particular got me. ROTFLMAO!

especially Rocco.
my kid mentioned Mick Fooley (sp) (of professional wrestling) when we where watching the film and I after that i kept seeing him do the role so I had to watch it a 2nd time just to get that picture out of my head

Roccco was a tragic figure

I can see the resemblence between Rocco and Foley.

To me it seemed that even though Rocco was employed by the kind of evil that the brothers were out to get, Rocco embodied the kind that the brothers were trying to protect.

I really feel that Rocco's character, while tragic, was the most important of the whole movie.

I've seen it and liked it a lot. :) :)

The monolog they did in the courtroom was amazing.

There are times I wish that those guys really did set up shop in South Boston ;)

I don't have a copy but thats a film I wouldn't mind owniing, even though it was pretty violent.

This is my gf's favorite movie. Ron Jeremy did a debate at her college on Porn Addiction, and she got him to sign her DVD.

For years that movie wasn't available in the US on DVD, my copy had to imported from Canada. I loved the humor and the camraderie of the brothers. I don't see how the moral aspects of this story are any different than any other vigilante movie out there. Simply asked, at what point do you go beyond the law to do "good."

Just came back from the viedo store where I told them to order me a copy.

Having walked the street of southy in my youth I can see why some one might want the brothers there

And that is a good question and one that will be hotly debated but as I asked what do you think of the moral point of view I am open to haveing that talk here or if someone wants to open another thread on the subject thats fine also

I've been screaming to the masses about how great this movie is for three years now.

AWESOME.

I've owned three copies (two were lent out and never made it back).
