I am so saddened that this has struck Turkey, especially as it shows they have learned nothing from similar disasters that did not happen all that long ago :(.

I think they are still steeped in the oriental mind set of doing things.
Earthquakes are rampant in the region....I still think with horror of the one that leveled Lenirnakan in Aserbaijan in the 1980s...100.000 estimated dead.... :(

Not everybody has the Japanese way of thinking. Sadly.

(then again, seems that ethnicity might have something to do with it: Armenians and Kurds...sigh)
