So do you support the effort to have Mitt Romney elected by calling his mom a porn star? Boiled down it called his mom a socialist whore who had Obama as part of a plat to make America socialist? If you cannot condemn such tactics, then you pretty much disqualify yourself from anyone taking anything you have to say on politics seriously.

I have read articles on Brietbart's site. As much as I could stomach anyway. The journalistic integrity there is almost nil. Truth comes in second to attack lines.

I think you should lay off the caffeine first of all. If someone is making a video trying to make out that obama's mother was a porn star then it is probably someone from the far left like the OWS types. After all, the democrat party embraced Larry flynt during the Clinton sex scandals, they embrace (through their hollywood supporters ) roman polanski, the man who raped a 13 year old girl and who guys like Harrison Ford have supported, and woody allen who had sex with his adopted step daughter, they continuosly make women get naked and perform simulated sex acts as requirements for employment and make movies that portray pedophiles as tragic heroes. Obama has yet to distance himself from the Samual Jackson video where an underage girl is swearing, just to help obama get elected, and Samual jackson who tweated that he wished the hurricane hitting Florida before the Republican national convention would veer in and kill everyone at the convention.

So please, if anyone created the atmosphere that made a video claiming obama's mother was a porn star it would be the hard left and the democrats.

On the other hand, if a democrat nutter had done this about Romney...or say made pornos about Sarah Palin, which they did, you would have democrat supporters and pundits embracing it and calling Sarah Palin all kinds of names and suggesting that she be violently raped...and democrat leadership not saying a word about it, which they didn't when it actually happened.

You posted links, which you seem really good at, you talked around it, tried to change the subject, but you haven't come out and said this sort of thing is out of bounds. Attacks on politicians families are wrong. Background on obama's mother is fine, but this seems to go too far, not having seen the material in question. Was she a communist, probably. Did she marry barak's dad, from what I know she did. Was frank marshal davis barak's dad, I doubt it. Was he an influence in obama's life, of course, obama writes about him in his biography 23 times, that is in barak's own words. It is interesting that he deleted all references to davis in the updated audio book that came out before he ran for office. It would be nice if the left would leave the children of politicians out of the attack zone as well, Trig Palin would be an excellent example. I always hold my side to the higher standard, they aren't democrats after all. If they do something wrong, I condemn it, as long as it is an accurate portrayel of wrong doing.

Bill, no you do not condemn such actions from the right. You change the subject and/or link a whole bunch of crap that tries to justify it. Even in your above post where say attack's on politicians are wrong, you do not come out and condemn the dvd's. You always have a caveat to any wrong doing by the right. As I've said before, there are idiots on both sides. If you don't police the nonsense from those idiots on the same side of the isle as yourself, you have no bussiness condemning those you don't agree with politically. It makes it look like you have substituted your moral judgement in lue of political beliefs. It also makes you look like a hypocrit because you are willing to condemn some terrible actions, but not others. In the end it shoots down your credibility, because it is apparent that political affiliation is your first and last indicator of wrong doing.

I haven't seen the dvd and don't plan to. If this guy said these things about barak's mother, and they aren't true then I condemn them and him for doing it as well as the dvd. I'll leave it to the other side to point out our mistakes, since they are more than happy to ignore the most vile behavior from their own people, from clinton and kennedy and Dodd to larry flynt to bill maher and samuel jackson. In 1991 it was discovered that Ted Kennedy reached out to the soviet union to help them defeat Ronald Reagan, in order to get their help for the democrats...and himself in the next elections. So again, this "lion" of the senate was never condemned or removed from his positions of power in the government or the democrat party. Which is worse, a nutter making silly accusations against the Presiden't mother, which no one is going to acknowledge or approve of, or someone trying to help the Soviet Union in the middle of the cold war.

I've said several times that people would listen to you more if you 'talked' less and 'said' more rather than all too regularly transplanting the output of rather dodgy sites here in our 'living room'. I've repped you before when you give your thoughts on some issue even if I don't agree with you, for I'll discuss politics with anyone that keeps a civil tongue in their head - harangue me with choleric diatribes and I'll ask you to find the door and not listen to a word you spout. I think that many people are wired that way and that's why you get such a poor response when you do get replies to what you post.

Regarding democracy, that nonsensical driving tendency to polarisation is why what should be a fine system for choosing governance has turned into the ridiculous circus it has. I'm a Liberal voter by inclination because the philosophy of the British Liberal Party is largely one I find generates policies I agree with. But Labour or Conservative policies that I agree with also win the nod from me - I don't dismiss them and try to depict them as something vile and evil just because of the nature of their progeniture.

A good idea is a good idea whosoever has it - something we all need to remind ourselves of every now and again.
