Who was the most influential poster for 2006?

Remember, it has to be from posts made in 06.' And it doesn't have to be the most frequent poster necessarily. Your choice could be based off one impacting post if you wanted too. It should simply be which poster was most impacting to you this year.

Submit your names here.

Maybe we'll make it into a poll when we collect enough names?

:)

For me it was in the
TKD section
Last Fearner and MSUTKD and Iceman and Kacey

General section

Brian Vancrise and Lisa and MJS

Ursila Bar and Grill

JeffJ and Carol and Drac

Chinese section Xue

Overall poster

Shesulsa and Lisa with no doubt

Grappling

MJS

Thank is off the top of my head could be some more if I really sit down and think about it

There are so many and I've gotten so much good information and advice, and more than a few laughs, that it's hard to choose, the ones that come immediately to mind are:

Carol, Drac, Exile, Terry, Shesulsa, Tez, Xue, Last Fearner and MJS.

I cannot narrow down the most influential poster for me to just one name either. They would have to be, in no particular order: Terry, Drac, Brian VanCise, Kacey, Shesulsa, & Carol Kar.

The 2 posters who I have to say I disagree with most, but their posts are always well written, thought out, and make me think about my own stand on issues would be Elder999 and Michaelward. For those qualities I have to mention them for making me examine WHY I stand where I do on the issues.

I think if we can narrow it down to maybe 3, then we can narrow down names to create a poll in a few days.

I would say the most influential posters for me were:

Lisa - for bringing up good relevent topics and adding to discussions.
Kenpotex - For participating and starting good discussions in the gun areas.
Jonathan Randall - For boosting up the WMA area.

:)

:)

Why not start with three or so per forum.

Have multiple polls and from the winners and close seconds, have a large poll for the complete board.

**** So Glad this new contest is not about me. :D ****

I think this is a great ideal and I'm also glad this is not about me:rofl:

This is a tough choice. If I had to narrow it down to three I would say Exile, Xue, and MJS have been the most influential to me personally.

Rich and Terry... of course this contest isn't about YOU guys... it's all about ...

MEEEE!!

thank you all... (let the pigeons loose if you will)

That was funny MA-CAVER. But I think my vote would have to go to Exile. With a very close second to Carol, Terry, Drac, Shesulsa. I'm also a big fan of Brian Vancrise's posts. And yes, you too MA-Caver.

This list works..Exclude my name in the Ususai Bar and Grill and add Terry's..

That would be a good idea, but I think a staff member would have to head that up. I barely have the time to manage the contest from here! :)

I enjoy variety so it is very hard to narrow down a list.

The posters who are the most prolific with their wisdom and knowledge would have to be but not necessarily limited. (so forgive me if I missed you)

JeffJ
Shesulsa
Kreth (needs to post more)
Jade Tigress
Lisa
Don Roley
Arnisador
Matt.m
Ben Cole
MJS
Mrhnau
Grenadier
MA-Carver
KenpoTex
Terry
Drac
QUI-GON
Tulisan
Rich Parsons
Xue Sheng (definately because of the rants)
Bydand
Last Ferner
Morph4me
Bob
Ping898
Kacey
Stickarts
Palusut

And trust me the list goes on. (but it is late and I am due to pack)

Talk about your tough choices....

OMG I'm almost famous!

If I had to choose one person only, it would have to be JeffJ.

Jeff started on MT and then took a little sabatical but came back to MT in September.

I admire Jeff's sense of humor (which I am the butt of most of his jokes ;) ) his knowledge base, his patience with people and his ability to shoot straight from the hip and ask questions and answer them without ever making anyone feel insuperior or stupid.

But saying that, picking only one person is just plain wrong. It is the melting pot of people here on MT that makes this place fantastic. Without the Tulisan's, Kenpotex's, Carol Kaur's, Kacey's, Terry's, MJS's Jade's, Shesulsa's, etc....I could go on and on this place just wouldn't be as great as it is.

I'd vote for Shesulsa, Lisa, and Arnisador for giving me the most helpful advice and input, on and off the board.

There are lots and lots and lots of other folks too...but they've reached out to me from...well...from back in my MT Noobdom. :)

I think that certianly the prolific posters will get their recognition... but those who post (and post well) infrequently but when the need calls for it should also be recognized as well. They may not say much but what they do say, makes us stop and think... or rethink as it may.

Good Point, Mac.

Many peope on this forum have given me cause to pause and rethink my views and opinions.
