Great post! It is quite obvious that ancient man was no less intelligent and resourceful (maybe more so) than modern man. I read some of the comments following the article and couldn't help noting one person insisting that we just had to accept that this was the work of ancient interstellar visitors. While it's exciting to think we might not be alone in the universe, it strikes me as lazy reasoning to assume that just because we haven't figured out how some of these works were accomplished, ancient man couldn't have figured it out.

Very interesting article.

I especially liked reading about India, as I read about an unrelated story recently that peaked my interest. There's a well in India that looks like something M.C. Escher would have dreamed up -- except the well is 1200 years old! Really fascinating.
