Wing Chun Dummy for Beginners

New to this forum and to Chinese martial arts. I am 67 years old and new to Wing Chun. I have done martial arts over the last 40 years; however, my gym is offering Wing Chun and Kali. I really like these 2 arts and have done roughly 2 months of training. It is going slowly, but going. I like the tradition, mystique, attention to detail, and beauty of these 2 arts, plus I think for my age, these 2 arts would be more realistic for me to use in self-defense if I get skilled. I plan to incorporate a cane with these 2 arts. Plus my arthritis is making me consider just doing those 2 arts.. They don't aggravate my knee and hip, although a little rough on the shoulder.

Need a recommendation for a Wing Chun dummy. Thinking as a beginner, I should get a cheap one and then sell it when I get more skills. I am looking in the used market, but having little luck. Please suggest dummies that you recommend. Space is a problem, so I need a free-standing. Probably a base instead of a frame. However, I would like at least 5 years of life in the dummy I purchase. I am going to pay for some private lessons with my instructor to teach me some drills to do. Thank you in advance for any replies.

Welcome to Martial Talk, and to Wing Chun. Lot's of dummy options out there. Talk with your instructor as well, he might have some dummy preferences that compliment your particular curriculum.
