Good point. With even the much-maligned Canadian dollar trading at $1.03 US, there really isn't that much of an attraction for the greenback as Washington hastens your inexorable slide to insolvency.

I think you're looking at this wrong, it's not about who owns the USA, it's about investing in the USA. Which means the governments you list have faith in the American people. You don't put your hard earned money into Mircosoft or IBM if you think you're going to lose $$, you put it in because you think you will get a positive return on your investment.

True... but who ever owns 51% or the shares is for all intensive purposes... in charge
