“THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER: THE COMEBACK”
GOES INTO PRODUCTION IN LAS VEGAS

New Season of Spike TV Series Has A Special Twist As All 16 Contestants Are Former UFC Fighters Looking To Make A Comeback

Winning Contestants Receive A Guaranteed Title Fight and a Six-Figure Cash Prize

Las Vegas, NV, May 23, 2006 -- Imagine sixteen fighters living together in a house in pursuit of one dream – a UFC title that has always eluded them. Imagine many of those living together having once fought against each other in the UFC Octagon™. With revenge and redemption on the line – Spike TV presents season four of The Ultimate Fighter.

Sixteen former UFC fighters, eight middleweights and eight welterweights, have gathered in Las Vegas for a new season of the wildly popular series, The Ultimate Fighter: The Comeback. The special twist to season four is the winning middleweight and welterweight fighters are both guaranteed a title fight and a six-figure cash prize. Production begins this week in Las Vegas. The series premieres on Spike TV Thursday, August 17 at 10:00pm ET/PT. The Ultimate Fighter: The Comeback is hosted by Dana White, UFC President.

Instead of coaches, The Ultimate Fighter: The Comeback will include prominent names in the UFC serving as advisors and counsel to the 16 fighters. They include: Randy “The Natural” Couture (UFC legend and former light-heavyweight champion), Georges St. Pierre (highly regarded UFC welterweight), and Mark Delagrati (Muy Thai coach and trainer).

During the competition, the 16 men will endure a grueling regimen of jiu-jitsu, judo, Muay Thai, karate, boxing and wrestling. The intense competition between the fighters will continue after they leave the gym - at The Ultimate Fighter™ House. The warriors will be forced to live with each other, knowing that any day they could be forced to fight each other in the famed UFC Octagon™. Unlike previous seasons, the fighters not only know each other from fighting in the UFC, but many in fact have fought against one another. There will be scores to settle as grudges and old wounds will be exposed.

As in previous seasons there will be two teams, despite the fact there won’t be any coaches. In each episode, opponents from each team will be selected to square off in battle, officially weighed in and then, in front of their teammates, advisors, and the sanctioning Nevada Athletic Commission, the two combatants face off in two 5-minute rounds (the semifinals will consist of three 5-minute rounds).

After seven weeks, The Ultimate Fighter 3 is averaging a 1.72 HH rating, with a 2.25 in M18-49, a 2.97 in M18-34 and an average audience of 2.1 million viewers. It is up +237% in HH, +436% in M18-49, +471% in M18-34 and +250% in average audience.

Craig Piligian of Pilgrim Films and Television, Frank Fertitta III, Lorenzo Fertitta, Dana White of Zuffa, LLC, and Kevin Kay of Spike TV are the show's executive producers. Brian J. Diamond is Senior Vice President, Sports & Specials, Spike TV and Co-Executive Producer. Peter V. Symuleski serves as Executive in Charge of Production for Spike TV.

Spike TV, the first network for men, is available in 90 million homes and is a division of MTV Networks. MTV Networks, a division of Viacom International Inc.
