Great Job !!! All 3 are very good fighters!!!

Congrats to everyone, I know they are top notch Olympic fighters.

We know GIGI and Cheyenne very well. These are 2 athletes that work very hard to achieve this level of success. They are both setting the bar high in the Fin/Fly division currently. This will drive the competition to much higher levels in 2010. Our team is looking forward to the competition over the next 6 months. My daughter will fight both of them this year. It is going to be fun to watch.

At the team trials in Jan it was Manila. Her dad coached her at US Open. I think she is still at Manila but he dad has been known to change schools.

Thanks. Yeah I talked to him at the Robinson open a few weeks ago and Master Givens was coaching her now. He said he was not with Master Cruz any more. Man they went from Robinsons to Manila to Givens in a very short time. Her height makes her so dangerous. She is very light for her height. She is almost 6'0" now.

Cheyenne is very talented and a very nice girl. I just don't see how the school hopping is going to help her in the long run. She presents allot of problems for the other Fin weights. Most people in her division max out at 5'6. I would think the average is 5'2-5'4. When I saw her at the US open she appeared to be 5'9. In a Sr division that is 101 and under she is significantly taller than everyone. Kymberly (my daughter) has not fought her as of yet we are hoping to get a shot at Cal State or Fresno.

I believe she was at Trot Garr's school before Manila as well.

My personal feeling is that she, is putting herself at great risk for her health if at nearly 6 feet tall she is weighing in under 125 at a minimum. I would never consider asking my own kid to fight at such an unnatural weight.

I have know Cheyenne and her father for about 3 Years and she does not cut weight. I know that it is hard to believe but she fights at her natural weight. She is only 13 and in eight grade. I am sure that she will be moving out of this weight class soon. It is very hard to believe that she walks around @ 97 pounds but she does amazing.

This is true. We talked about that and he said he would never ask his daughter to cut any weight. He told me that it would be staight up child abuse.

Cheyenne is tall and thin but she is not unhealthy.

Yeah she is tall and presents a challange. Good luck to Kymberly. I will see you guys at the Cal State Championships. Is Charlie competing as well?
