I think that it is a great idea to retro fit one's home to make it more energy efficient. But forcing people to do it before they can sell their home? That is without a doubt draconian in the extreme, and I call myself a tree-hugger. I would definitely not be happy if this passed.

Gee, take any older town or city, half the homes were built prior to 1960...99% of which aint up to current code. It'd cost my grandfather upwards of 40k to upgrade his house.....it's got fuses for petes sake.

Let me guess, the government gets the un-upgraded houses at death?

I can understand being required to comply with zoning laws and building code, but energy efficiency is a bit on the iffy side.

It's all about money. Same with Obamacare, same with the 'stimulus', same with 'taxing the rich' (hahaha yea, sure.)

Notice they put the tax before fixing the economy. For some reason they think the more taxes they stick on you the more you will spend.

It's all about money folks, ours.

They want ours.
