Syriana.

Anyone else see Syriana? I saw it this past weekend and I really enjoyed it. You can't follow the plot, exactly--as one critic wrote, you have to let it just "wash overyou" and simply experience it. I found it very effective. You don't see such intelligent movie-making very often anymore.

I enjoyed it very much. I was able to follow the plot but it's an amalgamation of various stories and how the situation in the middle east affects the lives of the various characters, much like TRAFFIC showed how the "war on drugs" affected the lives of the various people who were involved at different levels.

My wife wants to see it just for George Clooney.

He's great in it. He put on 30 lbs. and a beard for the role and really looks old and weary. It's perfect for the part--you can feel his tiredness.
