Surviving Niagara Falls

Anyone hear about the guy that went over Niagara Falls and survived? Guess this was just in the past few days......amazing. Guess if you fall just right.......

Dude...if I didn't think I would die from it I would want to try. I think it would be the coolest to say that you survived Niagra.

Does anybody have any links to media footage, or anything?

There are bits on most news Web sites.

Apparently, it was an impulse thing...he just decided taking a swim over the falls would be a good idea at the time.

I believe the only other person to survive a fall over the falls with no type of vessel or protection was a child who fell off a boat. He had a life preserver on, though.

I heard a rumor at work about this guy being fined $10,000 USD.

Anyone have any information on this?

The UK article said up too 4500 pounds. THis isn't quite 10K, but it is still alot of doe!

Current conversion is 1 USD to 1.69392 British Pound

which at 4500 pounds that means $7633.64.

I heard the fine was $10,000 Canadian. Personally I think it's a pretty stupid thing to do though. IMHO
