Master Black Belt

Silat

Looks interesting, embodies many principles found in CMA.. "Kung Fu Wang" often mentions the use of cross hands,
a concept present in Taiji’s ā€œholding the ballā€ posture as well as in the cross-arm movements found in Northern Mantis.
A shared logic of structure, bridging, and redirection.

They use a wooden dummy, similar in structure and function to the one used in Wing Chun.

wooden dummy

take down / scissors kick also found in northern mantis.

Evolution to sport contest

An interesting kick, one we practiced in Korea, learning n-mantis..

He goes in for the kick, misses, continues with a follow up..
Continuous flow..

I don’t think there is a sport version of Silat. I took Mande Muda for a short time. Very animal like in its movements. Fun while it lasted.
