What, if any is the difference between the San Shou used in the ring and what is taught to the Beijing Police?

Thats a good question, I would assume its simply "ring material" versus "self defense" material, but I dont honestly know.

I think it's more the Beijing police work for self defense/restraint/control, etc... stuff & the ring stuff is geared for more ring rules & techniques.

I suspected that was the case, but I wanted to see what others had to say.

I have an opportunity to study San Da with someone that trained, for many years, in China in the Police version.

I had seen the ring version, but not the police version.
