I played this game for months when it came out and I thought that the intro was the bestest thing evarrr . How our expectations change as the technology improves :).

Wing Commander 4 was pretty cool, circa 1996 or so:

For that matter, Wing Commander 3 was also good! :)

Another intro that I thought was amazing at the time - it would be great to see these sorts of footage re-rendered up to present day standards :D

:chuckles: Looks like someone with a bit of graphics talent had the same thought:

I was addicted to this game for a while:

My son was always a bit freaked out a little by the Psygnosis owl logo.

There was a time during my formative years when Goldeneye for N64 was the epitome of graphics, gameplay, and just general awesomeness:

Heck, when my old friends and I get together we still plug this puppy in and have a blast (no pun intended!).

Was a fan of Mech Warrior and Wing Commander series... but I think one of my favorites was Privateer. 3AM in the morning, staring at the screen doing one more cargo run, with the eerie game music at the cargo bays.. I was the privateer.

A little bit different back then.. http://www.razerzone.com/artemis, this will change the way Mech Warrior is played.

Those games bring back memories. I remember how the last Wing Commander actually opened up people's eyes to the acting and art part of the games. By today's standards, those graphic are really outdated, but I remember at the time being really excited about them. Of course I am old enough that I remember when Pong came out, and how much fun my sister and I had playing it :)
