Sifu Randy Williams I noticed in several magazines incorporates rattans in his training system. Is there are real purpose, what's the purpose and are rattans apart of the WC system?

I have to first say that Sifu Randy Williams is my teacher. It is not part of what many consider "Traditional WC" We use it to drill certain motions like Loy Kwun Sau or Ngoy Kwun Sau (inside and outside rolling hands) We even have a form for it. We include it in footwork and kicking drills just like we add the swords in. It is a common mistake to think that the motion is circular when it is actually a forward drilling motion. If the edge of the ring is looking at you, you place one hand in one side and the other through the other side, not both hands through the middle with nothing between them.
