Hi all,

I just started BJJ and am excited to really learn it. I think it will be a very effective art for me to learn and doesn't take years to be able to use (not master, just use). Anyway I am looking for a nice Gi that will last for a while at least. I know there are threads out there that touch this subject but most people are not my size. I am 5'9" ish maybe slightly taller and only about 142lbs (I could stand to gain a few pounds) so I'm fairly skinny.

I have found that Inverted Gear makes Gi's just my size but they are out of the blue ones, and the black and white won't ship till next month, not a huge deal the place I'm going to has donor gi's until I can get my own, so I can wait if this is a good gi to start with.
Here's the inverted ones:

I also found a very well priced Tatami, but I don't know about the different versions:

If anyone else has any suggestions I would appreciate that as well.

Thanks!
Quinn

I like the panda gis. Well made and comfortable.

Does anyone know where might have the Inverted Panda gi in stock in size A1 T/S? Only place I've seen that even sells them is Karate Depot but they are sold out right now, as well as Inverted themselves.

They go in waves. If you send a note to the contact link on the inverted gear website, the owner will get back to you and let you know when they'll come back into stock.

FWIW, the Tatami Estillo gi is also very good quality. The difference between the estillo and zero g is durability and weight. The Estillo is a little heavier weight (although still not too heavy), and will last you a little longer. The Zero G is lightweight, for tournaments and working out in hot weather.

Thanks! Do you know about the Nova Gi? I will probably order one of the white or black Panda gi's and just wait till it comes next month.

Ok I've decided to go with the panda gi, can anyone recommend a belt brand and size? I'm about a 30" waist.
Thanks

I have found that both the Panda and the Tatami pants run super short. Steve - have you found that as well? Then again, I think that in general, women wear their pants higher than men do, and I like mine around my belly button.

Fujis are nice, and inexpensive as well.
