Now that’s interesting! There’s a band that’s kind of got a cult following called Cheekface that has a similar vibe. Upbeat, happy sounding melodies but sharp, often sarcastic lyrics.

I was waiting in a Jersey Mike’s for my lunch and an unedited version of Darling Nikki by prince came on. I looked around to see if anyone else could believe it, but I guess I was the only one who knew the lyrics.
