At the following site: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061106/ap_on_sc/mercury_passing , one may read about Mercury passing in front of the Sun. It will make it visiable with the right telescope and filters. It will happen this week.

Might be a good time to try out my 8" reflector with the sun filter. I have never tried to view the sun with it. This might be a good time to try it out.
