furthering his training under Soke Hatsumi Masaaki. He is also a
trusted, personal student of Nagase Hiroshi, Someya Kenichi, and Nagato
Toshiro. This year's themes include - Roppo Kuji no Biken, Budo no Kiso, Daisho Jutaijutsu, Juppo
Sessho, Tachi Waza, among others.

The mat fee for this event is $15.00 for Friday night, and $60.00 for

a $10 discount: http://www.acteva.com/booking.cfm?bevaid=74263

Please bring your own training weapons if you have them. The Center has some training weapons available for use. Space will probably be limited to about thirty students. Please arrive a bit early in order to change, stretch, etc. as the seminar should begin promptly.

Maybe before assuming that one knows the meaning of something unfamiliar one should get confirmation before going ahead and going off their assumption.

I'll bet if you went to the seminar and asked Mr. Molitor directly, there wouldn't be any guesswork at all...

But hey, "I guess there's no wrong way to eat a Reese's", huh?

Whoa Kizaru, try decaff.

The problem with the above idea is that not everyone reading this will be able to go to the seminar (limited to 30 and filling fast) but a lot of people must be wondering about the joke. If you dangle the fact that there is some sort of joke going on and do not explain, you almost send out printed invitations for people (who can't go) to speculate.

Since the cat seems to be out of the bag, maybe I should explain the comment.

There is a joke among a few guys who haved lived here in Japan like Luke. When we look at what Hatsumi or the teacher is doing we try to follow that movement as close as we can. But if you take a look around the room most of the time, there seems to be a lot of people who are not even trying to do what the teacher just showed. They cannot seem to get the move to work, and instead of checking their basics and such to see why the move does not work for them, they instead come up with something else that will toss the guy on the ground.

Talk to some of these folks and they will give you some stupid excuse that they do not have to follow the movements of Hatsumi exactly. "Then why the hell did you bother showing up in Japan and taking up space I could be using if you are not going to even TRY to do what Hatsumi is doing" is what I want to scream at them sometimes. Their attitude is that as long as it tosses the guy, it is good and disregard the idea that the teacher showed the move in a specific way to teach or illustrate a specific point. There attitude is that there is no wrong way to do a technique.

And I am sure everyone can put together the rest of the joke based on what has been said by Kizaru and the candy commercial. Luke knows it and it would have been fun to make the comment in his hearing.
