Do any of you folks in Chinese kenpo use an arrowhead strike against nerve and pressure points of the body?

For those who don't know the arrow hand position is preformed by extending the knuckle of the index finger in the fist and bracing the first knuckle of the index finger with the thumb. The strike on it's own is extremely effective against nerve points, throat, artery's, etc.. The question that I'm wondering about is the "morphing" of the nerve strike to a half fist after initial contact is made. I've been playing around with doing this on my mak and it looks like there is some potential here.
