Is it any wonder, Haines later reflected, that juveniles are increasingly turning to violence to solve problems with "role models" such as these? The incident drove home what Haines had believed for a long time--a seemingly common sense notion that kids need role models

One of the truest things I've seen written in a long time. As a father of 5 I can never allow myself to forget that my children see everything I do and carry that with them from day to day. Too often I meet parents who really have no idea that they are doing major damage to their kids outlook by doing the things that they do. Kudos to the officers in this program. That is definetly above and beyond the call of duty.
