..and they were still able to subdue the POS. Lesson for the masses? Just because someone is handcuffed, arrested or in custody does NOT mean that he is no longer a threat.

And in Las Vegas...

http://connect.lawofficer.com/forum/topics/federal-marshals-shot-inside

Sort of casts light on the case of what an officer did when he saw a man with a weapon approaching a court building in his jurisdiction. As is being discussed on another thread.

On one hand, there is a lot of moaning and wailing if a LEO plays it on the safe side. Otoh, there is a lot of moaning and wailing if a LEO does not 100% prevent things like mentioned above. And sometimes it's from the same people.

True, though the Criticism of the Officer in Mass. wasn't what he did initially, but what he did and said subsequent to determining no crime was being committed........he was absolutely right to check the situation out and respond as he did initially, including disarming the gentleman........but once it's clear no crime was being committed, he should have returned the gun and gone on about his day.........though I don't think it was as big a deal as some were making of it, his statements subsequent to that were part of the problem.

Exactly, thus why I always say, "Damned if they do, damned if they dont." Seems like no matter what they do, they're never 'right' in the eyes of some.
