I stumbled across this on YouTube and for just a second was all abuzz with excitement that someone was going to Game-of-Thrones one of Cornwell's series ...

But it seems it is just an advert :(.

Bernard is a fantastic military/historical fiction writer who gives you action and character (plus a little bit of education) all in one bite. Whilst Sharpe is awesomely fabulous, it would be great to see more of his work get the 'visualisation' treatment.

It seems that this is something his publisher has been doing a bit of on the quiet. Here is a bit of scene setting by the writer himself for a book called "The Fort".

I have all, and I mean all, of his books right behind me, I would love for them to make some of them into movies!

I hope they serialize his books. Sharpe was one of my favorites but there is lots of good material that would make great TV series. I just hope they will make them better than Game of Thrones.
