Sikaran: Independent Art, or Sub-Art?

I know one group that does Sikaran as its own complete art that includes more than just foot-fighting and another group that considers it "only" the kicking part of a larger art. The Geronimo group in the Phil. treats it as a complete martial art, I know.
How many people think of the kicking part of their art as sipa/sikaran and don't think of it as a full system unto itself?
