Doce Pares is one of the seminal and largest organisations of the Filipino Martial arts, founded by the Saavedra and Canete brothers in 1932. It is currently headed by the legendary Supreme Grandmaster Ciriaco "Cacoy" Canete, the last surviving of the original founding members and victor of over 100 juego todo "death matches".

This is a rare oportunity to train in the illustrious yet elusive art of Eskrido (Combat Judo), which was developed by SGM Cacoy. It is comprised of the use of locks and throws coupled in a highly sophisticated way with traditional eskrima techniques.

Master Craig is one of Australia's leading proponents in the Filipino Martial arts and is the chief instructor/founder of East Coast Doce Pares Institute (ECDPI). He has travelled to the Philippines many times to train directly under SGM Cacoy and is one of the SGM's most respected students.

Master Craig is a world class expert in eskrido who closely emulates the SGM in style and technique. Master Craig's other areas of expertise, outside of eskrima are "Pangamot" - Filipino Jiu-Jitsu and "Dumog" - Filipino grappling. He is a well rounded martial artists who is greatly revered by his students.

I've had occasion to work with Doce Pares stick work, under Cacoy Canete. It's great stuff. I won't be buying a ticket to Oz, but unqualifiedly recommend for anybody down there.
