I like to run (or walk). When I run (or walk), I like to do some punching drill. One of my favor drill is "right jab, left cross, right hook, left hook". I'll do in the following way.

- Coordinate foot landing with my punch.
- Take 4 steps break between each 4 punches reps.
- Take 30 steps break after 60 reps.
- Finish 5 x 60 reps = 300 reps = 300 x 4 = 1,200 punches.

I can finish one circle between 20 - 30 minutes. If I run fast, I can train fast punch. If I run slow, I can train slow punch. I'll feel great after 1,200 punches. IMO, this is an excellent solo training to mix in with your daily running (or walking).

Your thought?

Always loved to punch and box while doing roadwork. Makes running far more tolerable.

Nice, that'd be a good fun training practice.

I remember when I used to prepare for gradings/tournaments, on my runs, after a set time or distance of running (or even randomly) I would do some footwork stuff, shuffles, moving off centre along with parries, strikes etc. Or just random punches whilst running, but would be fun to do in a structured way like you do.

Wait, do you mean like as you are running, so say jogging on the spot and you start doing punch combos? I had something completely diffrent in my mind if thats the case.

Pretty good warmup from what i have seen anyway.

Jogging not full speed running. The main thing is to coordinate the foot landing with punch. I also like to do a foot sweep for every 4 steps that I make.

IMO, the 1,000 punches (or 1,000 foot sweep) is a good endurance test (not sure 1,000 kicks non-stop is good for the knee joint).

Here is a 14 punches combo that I like to do when I walk.

- Right jab, left cross.
- Right hook, left hook.
- Right uppercut, left uppercut.
- Right overhand, right vertical back fist.
- Left overhand, left vertical back fist.
- Right hay-maker, right horizontal back fist (∞).
- Left hay-maker, left horizontal back fist (∞).

If I can drill this combo 100 time when I walk, I have already done 1,400 punches.

Any comment?
