Remind me to resurrect (sp?) this thread come January when I am sitting at home and it is -40 degrees with a windchill dropping down to -60. :(

It's hot - I love it.
It makes me sweat easier - I love it.
There is more day light - I can do more things outside.
I can walk around in a pair of shorts and tank top if I wish. - I love it.
I don't have snow up to my ****. - I hate winter
I don't have to shovel snow!!!! - I hate winter even more.
I don't have to drive in snow. - This is the worst. I have winter.

It is just about coming into spring here, the best things are:

Daylight Savings.

Monarch ButterflyÂ’s.

New Blossoms on the Trees.

Day trips to the Beach.
The Smell of Summer Rain on the Hot Road

Getting home from work and be able to work the dogs or go for a swim.

Not freezing my **** off in the morning or driving to work in the fog.

And on those stinking hot days AIR CONDITIONING Rocks.

Black cherries, seedless watermelon, the smell of coppertone and chlorine on people you meet.

Checking out the lambs and baby pigs at the fair. Corn dogs and Carnival rides.

Steve

County fair.

Shaving the dog and seeing him roll in the green grass and grunt with pleasure. (Of course, he grunts with pleasure when he rolls in the snow in winter.)

Being able to teach in more casual attire, or even a sundress.

Sandals to kick off.

Bare arms.

Summer thunderstorms.

Dancing in the warm weather.

Laying in the grass and watching the clouds move overhead in a blue blue sky, with my belly as a pillow for someone else.

Seeing more people out walking around downtown.

The smell of thunderstorms and rain on the hot earth.

Allowing myself more pleasure reading, even if I don't have too much time for it, since it's summer reading!

Getting warm all the way through to my bones, which is hard to do in the winter.

The veggies and fruits (I must go to the Farmer's Market!) - like the roasted corn-on-the-cob at the fair, so good, esp. dipped in the vat of melted butter....

Feeling the sun on my skin and the breezes.

Seeing the intense green of the leaves on the trees and the plants all around - this powerful, undulating green.

bare feet

my garden is in bloom

swimming in my pool

the beach with friends

having dinner outside

listening to the night creatures' sounds

listening to nighttime thunderstorms with the windows wide open

driving with the top down

napping in the hammock

listening to wind chimes in a gentle summer breeze

sweating til it pours out or you pass out

cold showers

lemonjuice and soda water

a great tan

christmas catch up at my moms house

watching others plan new years resoloutions they nearly intend to keep

and..........

when summers over, you get to fly somewhere else and do it all again. :D

I like warm weather, but it's been over 30C here of late which is tad hot for my taste. Had to buy a sweatband- even we TCers can sweat too you know!

I love the summer storms here in Joburg, although living on top of a hill we seem to get more than our share of lightening! Next door neighbours were a bit slow to unplug the other day and their modem got fried, as did the camera on the front gate.

Like others, I love the smell of cut grass, especially when Mrs Pakua's the one doing the cutting. :ultracool

And don't forget the Pshhht of opening tins.....
