To me they look slovenly, but they’re great for grabbing and controlling your enemy’s head during combat. Everyone in my gym sports a big, bushy, ginger beard and usually, a shaved head…and that's just the ladies. I see very few medical doctors and neuroscientists or members of the Royal family with beards (my social group). I think that says it all!

Snobbishly condescending, Gyakutō 😑😉

I believe Henry VIII sported a beard, as did the Moguls, and a certain Dr Julius Hallervorden…

Royal family, Aristocracy, “neuroscientist”, respectively.
Yes but c**ty ones so they don’t count and not in my social circle…and Ghengis Khan knows very well why he’s no longer in my social circle🤨

The person in that video makes my point 🤨 He’s scruffy, slovenly, his gait is ignoble and his little ditty isn’t funny and goes on too long (like SNL sketches).

EUTHANASIA!

Sounds like something a smooth chin would say.
A bearded man will never walk on the moon 😑

Hagakure - Entry 14

A warrior must not neglect his appearance. Disordered hair or dirty clothing (beardies usually have dirty clothes) are shameful for a warrior. Even in poverty, one can keep oneself clean. To put one’s appearance in order is also to put one’s heart in order. To be in a condition that causes no shame, no matter when others see him is one of the accomplishments of a warrior.

I beg to differ, I feel this gentleman in particular looks rather distinguished with his facial hair

Not according to Musashi Miyamoto…

Besides, I am both beardless and shameless.

He was clean, beardless (although he is occasionally depicted with a moustache by people who had never met him) and well-groomed and there’s no contemporaneous evidence that he had eczema/psoriasis . It’s a myth he was un bathed and unkempt, a rumour put about by those he roundly defeated (Shintō Ryu).

No, beards and those who sport them are slovenly 🤢🤮

Of course, you wouldn’t want to hide any of that handsome face of yours🤨 (he is, everyone, he’s posted a few photos in the past, but don’t encourage him) Why are you attempting to defend those hairy miscreants?

Beards are, frankly, one of civilisation’s more baffling lapses in judgement. What began as nature’s perfectly reasonable way of keeping a man’s face warm has somehow evolved into the proud cultivation of a small, hairy ecosystem around the mouth. A beard is essentially a facial doormat: it collects crumbs, soup, coffee, mysterious particles and, presumably, the occasional small mammal. Worse still, its owner invariably strokes it with the solemn satisfaction of a Victorian philosopher, as though he has just discovered the meaning of life rather than spent six months growing a nest on his chin. Give me a clean-shaven face any day — smooth, hygienic and mercifully free of whatever scummy strata may be accumulating beneath the lower lip. 😑
