Our Sensei noted the other day that our kids class is still full, and normally at the end of the summer, the ranks have thinned out. It seems to me that our adults classes are a bit larger than they were when I started, three years ago. But that's purely anecdotal. Could be any number of things causing it. Gas prices and 'staycations' instead of families traveling for vacations, the economic downturn, the still-rising popularity of MMA and 'ultimate' fighting on TV, lots of things.

I'm always glad to see new students in the dojo. I'm happier when they stick around for awhile. I can only hope that the presumed popularity of traditional martial arts continues and upward trend.
