Good story - good cops.

Officers came, and you can imagine how they felt. Three predators had tricked and ripped off an elderly veteran whoÂ’d tended to casualties aboard the hospital ship Solace at Pearl Harbor and was saving up for a final journey back to the hallowed spot on Oahu.
The police still were working the case when they asked Herb and Evelyn a few days ago to come into the station. Just about everyone in the Petaluma Police Department welcomed the Loudens, then gave them something.
It was a check for $2,195. The police employees had taken up a collection among themselves.

Thanks for that, Bill.

Given that our focus these days seems almost universally to be on the bad, the scary and the troublesome, that was a most needful reminder that good people exist everywhere ... and more of them than the wicked if they're given half a chance to show it.
