Good point. Many offshoots don't know what was changed, what wasn't why things were a certain way or why they are a certain way now..... Whether it's an important loss is another matter. IMHO, yes it's important because if you're changing something it's generally a good idea to know what you're changing from and why you're doing so. Others may have a different view but there you go. If you don't know where you are coming from it's hard to tell where you're going.
