Punch or Kick? What's your money maker?

I know we don't always have a choice on how we respond to an attack. Our response often times depends on how we are attacked. But if you have control over how you want to 'return the favor', is it generally with a kick or a hand strike? In other words if you can end the confrontation with one blow would you depend on your hands or your feet?

Neither. It would probably be an elbow or a head butt. If I wanted to end the fight quickly with my hands they would be holding something.

I'm very confident with my hands and figure I can persuade someone to stop with them. Of course a following elbow is always handy too.
