A couple of hundred bucks every few years to refresh sparring gear and gis for the family, a new patch for the kids and weapons as they advance, test fee is $10, pretty short money for that stuff. The monthly fee is a killer, though. Myself and my two sons are in the karate program, my wife does cardio-kickboxing, $250 per month. Seems alot now, but I think its worth every penny. After twenty something years I'm addicted, and I'm hoping my boys will be engaged for life, too. It's nice to have my whole family participate in something so worthwhile.
