Hi all,

So I just got an article assignment to report on the best martial arts events in the US (sorry Sukerkin, I'll have to do the UK another time). I've got a fair amount of experience, but was curious what the rest of you all had seen and done. What are the best events in your necks of the woods?

Some ground rules -- these are arbitrary, but they're the definitions of "best" for purposes of the article.

1. Events must be in the continental US
2. The event fee must be less than $500
3. The event must be multi-style. I might make an exception here or there for otherwise exceptional events, but if it's not multi-style, there's little point in telling people about it.
4. The event should last at least two days

I can't wait to hear your thoughts.

Tiger Balm's annual competition would be a decent place to start.

I am in Canada, but only an hour or so north of the border. First weekend in November, Capital Conquest is held in Ottawa, Ontario. Instructors(and students) from North America and Europe. Jiu jitsu, Karate, Aikido, Kickboxing, Tai Chi and more. Been going to Capital Conquest for over 20 years.

What do you mean by "event?" Competitions/tournaments, seminars, camps, or some combination?
