Wing Chun Dummy Design

I have been batting around the idea of updating the design of the wing chun dummy.
Here are some of the ideas I have:

1. Modify the mounting system so that there is 360 degree access around the dummy -- removing the horizontal slats. I see this offering the following benefits:
   • Allow the practice of lateral moves. An opponent can knock the Wing Chun practitioner off the center line by charging. Without the mounting bars, the practitioner can practice moving laterally and attacking from behind after the "charger" has passed.
   • Allow the mounting of the practice dummies for a classroom setting -- one dummy up front for an instructor and others mounted for students such that they can practice while observing the instructor.
2. Designing in some torsional give in the body of the dummy. This will keep the student from developing the habit of leaning away from the dummy. To me a very bad habit -- off balance. The dummy will elastically give and come back to center. This should give practicing a more natural feel.
3. Also design in some elastic give in the arms and legs to provide a more natural feel. This will be limited just enough to enhance the natural feel.
4. Modify the arms so that it mimics joints. In practice with an individual feeling the wrists in sticky hands helped me a lot in the competition.
5. Design in at least 3 positions for height of the dummy's arms and legs to allow the dummy to be configured for people of various statures.
6. Finally, simplify the design so someone could make the new design fairly easily without buying a lot of expensive tools.

Please feel free to comment on any of the above or make suggestions. I have a full blown CAD system and will be pretty rigorous in the design: material, suppliers, estimated costs, etc...
