Having lived in Phuket for a while now I know it can be tricky finding the right gym/accommodation here on the island. I came to train Muay Thai here back in March last year and now call this place my home (honestly its awesome here) .
I started this thread so that if anyone who is considering coming here to train or has done so already can get advice and share stories and experiences about gyms and guesthouses. I live in Rawai, south part of the island and stay close to four great gyms, Rawai Muay Thai, Sinbi Gym, Lion Gym and Promthep Gym, all of which I can recommend. The local area itself is great to stay too – some great scenic running routes, quieter than Patong so better for focusing on training but if you want you can be there in about 20mins if you want to go party. There are also some of the best beaches on the island here too.
I also now work at a Real Estate Agents in Rawai and we always keep an ear to the ground for suitable accommodation for MT students, I know it can be tricky especially in the peak season.
