Master Yagi Meitetsu - Hanshi Kudan

In 1983, he became President of Meibukan, Nagata Branch. Also in the same year he became a director of the Zen Okinawa Karate-do Renmei.
In 1987 received Hachi-dan (8th dan) from the Okinawan Karate-do Goju-kai. Later that year Yagi Sensei traveled to India to spread the Meibukai. Over the next few years, Yagi Sensei would travel many places spreading the Meibukai, including across Canada, Australia and the United States..
In 1996 he received his recent rank of Hanshi Kudan (9th dan) from his Father . Hanshi is a title which in English reads - Teacher of teachers. For the past four years he has served 2 full terms as Kaicho (President) of the Okinawan Karate-do Goju-kai. This organization oversees all traditional kai ha of Goju-ryu in Okinawa.
In the later 1990's he took over instructional duties at the Meibukan Hombu Dojo. In 1998 he co authored the first English Text on Goju-ryu Meibukan. Outside his Karate duties, Yagi Sensei enjoys his career as a junior high school teacher very much. He takes great pride in guiding young people towards a good path in life.
[/SIZE][SIZE=-1]Family life is very important to Meitetsu Sensei. His belief is that a strong society comes from a strong family. He is married to Sueko-san with two sons - Ippei and Teppei. He is also very proud of becoming a Grandfather of two, Ryuhei and Kohei [/SIZE](both son's of Ippei)[SIZE=-1].[/SIZE]
