End of the second season

It's almost time to start the new season and I realize I forgot to write about the end of the previous one.

The season officially ended with the outdoor trainings in July, which was far too hot and humid for comfort. Still, that is part of the game I guess. Some days he weather was just perfect. And practicing kihon on a sandy slope with pinecones underneath has its charms :) and it's good practice too.

August is our 'off' month, though I still trained as much as I could on my current level in KJJR jujutsu (which is for 10th and 9th kyu). But I didn't train every week because I made the concession to my wife that I would not train during the time our holidays overlapped. Those are the moments reserved for family activities, and I understand well enough that she does not want to have to schedule our holiday activities around my training times.

Still, I am going to squeeze in one more training on monday the 30th before the start of the season on the 2nd. In that sense, one could argue that the 'end' of the season was near the middle of August and the 'start' is next monday I suppose.

The past 2 seasons just flew by and I enjoyed every minute of it, including the very painful and uncomfortable ones. It really seems as if I 've only been practicing for a short time. I take it as a good sign that I still long for training as much as when I started. And in those 2 years I've come a long way from where I was.
