An annual report from Reporters without Borders has recently been released.

It seems Northern Europe rates highest among Reports without Borders in matters relevant to a free press.

The United States, currently on a mission to spread Freedom and Democracy throughout the middle east / world, ranked 44 on the list.

The US dropped from 17th on the list, in 2002, for two reasons, Judith Miller was imprisoned for 85 days, and several reporters were expelled from the country.

I find it ironic that the stated drop in standing was said to come as a direct result of a Leftwing directed witch-hunt.

I am missing the part of the article that says several reporters were "expelled from the country". Maybe i'm just not seeing it. All I'm seeing is the reference to Judith Miller.
