Anyone know of a Wado Ryu dojo in the Chicago area? I found on reference on the eastern us federation page but have not received a return email. So I don’t know if that is still active. I am heading to the address this weekend to see. Any help is appreciated.

Just give it a try! I’m sure they won’t murder you and steal all your money (well not in the first few lessons, anyway) and opinions can be so variable to almost be of little value.

Go along, have an go and see what you think. It’s quite exciting really!

Update? Seems like there should be more than one Wado-ryu school in a city of 10,000,000 people.

I’ve heard Wado Ryu is being banned in the USA, as it’s recent research has discovered it to be the most lethal school of Karoddy. Practitioners of Wado Ryu have to register their whole bodies with law enforcement agencies everyday

WOW! I didn't know that. I knew that was true in the 1950's but I thought it expired with the death of Count Dante in 1975.

They reinstated it for Wado Ryu because the subtle twisting of the body out of the line of an attack (nagasu) was deemed lethal because it was beyond the comprehension of the ‘straight back and forth’ of other styles

Count Dante isn’t dead, he’s just having a little rest with his eyes closed

There are female practitioners of "other" arts here and abroad that also must register their bodies.

subtle twisting of the body...was beyond the comprehension

Those practitioners mentioned above have great skills, refined by years of drilling. At least, so I've heard.

Be careful what you ask for. My pappy used to say if a man could get half his wishes granted he could duble his troubles.
