Article II Section I of the U.S. Constitution

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President

Is this an antiquated clause or should it be kept as is?

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, an Orange County, Calif., Republican doesn't seem to think so.

Fearful of the potential influence of foreign powers, America's founding fathers included a provision in the U.S. Constitution requiring that a president be born in the United States.

I guess I still agree with that.

The Congressman, it should be noted, is a well-known right-wing loon. And it's hard to see what politician he might have in mind, anyway...

Doesn't the right argue that Courts that we need to get back to the intent of the 'founders'.... Seems the 'founders' intent is crystal clear as to whom can hold the office of President of the United States. One might go so far as to say we need not look for the founders 'intent', because their actual words can be referenced.
