He was told several times he didn't have the UFC look. Dana White said he has the most unathletic body in sports but fighting isn't about muscle or a tanned body. Roy Nelson, 6-foot and 264 pounds, winning The Ultimate Fighter isn't shocking but the way he did probably stunned most fans. Nelson used his excellent ground skills to roll past three opponents during the reality show. Brendan Schaub, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound former fullback at Colorado, was touted as the guy who would give Nelson trouble on the feet. Instead it was Nelson who consistently landed his right hand. Schaub took one too many when he got blasted by a Nelson right behind his ear. Schaub was out on the way down handing a knockout win at 3:45 of the first to Nelson, the TUF 10 champion.

"I'm feeling a good, a little tired. I want to get to Burger King now," Nelson told UFC color voice Joe Rogan.

The sarastic Nelson said he was the underdog. By appearances, he may be but smart fight fans knew he was the favorite. He was installed as a minus-270 favorite in Las Vegas and bettors slammed Schaub's side so Nelson went off at minus-165.

Nelson was by far the most experience of the 16 fighters on TUF 10. He was the heavyweight champ in The International Fight League but told several sources that he was told in the past he wasn't welcome in the UFC because he didn't have the "right look."
