Taekwondo sparring - Private Class (Los Angeles)

Hi everyone,

My 15-year-old son is a black belt in Taekwondo, and we recently moved to Los Angeles. Due to his school schedule, he’s looking to continue training just once a week.

He has a strong interest in sparring and enjoys competing in tournaments, so we’re looking for a Taekwondo Master in the Los Angeles area who offers private sparring sessions.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I'd guess that LA has more TKD schools than anywhere else in the whole USA! I'm sure many of them are tournament oriented. Just visit them and talk with the head instructor. He would want to meet your son first before offering any private session or discussing $.

I'd google "Taekwondo near me" and reach out to folks there. There may be some people from LA here, but we've got folks from all over the world. I can't much help you, because I don't live in LA.

Your son can form his own "fighting club". When I was young, I even knocked on my neighbor's door and asked if he would spar with me.

Back then, my fighting club contained:

- Professional MT fighter.
- TKD BB.
- Hapkido BB.
- Uechi Ryu BB.
- CMA guy (myself).

not the best of ideas outside of a MA school in the USA these days with the number of lawsuits

When I was younger my Shifu allowed ua to have one at his school, made up of, TKD BB, Aikido BBs, Judo BB, Kenpo BB, Taijiquan people, Xingyiquan person, Long Fist people, and one guy who was a southern White crane/ex marine.
